File 04 · Delivery

How a mandate
actually runs.

Four phases, fixed scope, senior people on every call. This is the delivery model behind every engagement we accept — no theater, no surprises.

Delivery model
Phase 01 · Weeks 0–1

Diagnostic

We map the constraint before proposing the cure. Primary interviews, floor time, raw data — not recycled industry decks.

  • Stakeholder and operator interviews
  • Document and data audit
  • Constraint map draft with early findings
Phase 02 · Weeks 1–3

Analysis

Findings are quantified, stress-tested against a principal who didn't collect them, and reduced to the decisions that matter.

  • Quantified baseline and options analysis
  • Adversarial internal review
  • Mid-point readout — no surprises at the end
Phase 03 · Weeks 3–5

Design

The recommendation becomes an operating artifact: a system, a plan or a cadence — designed for the people who will run it.

  • One-page operating summary
  • Named internal owners for every element
  • Implementation sequence and cost model
Phase 04 · Weeks 5–8

Handover

We stay through the first operating cycles — training owners, tuning the system, then leaving cleanly. The artifact runs without us or it isn't done.

  • Owner training and runbooks
  • Two supervised operating cycles
  • 90-day check-in, included in fee
The mid-point readout is non-negotiable. Clients hear bad news in week two, never in the final deck.
Staffing
1–3 senior consultants per mandate; the person who pitched does the work
Pricing
Fixed scope & fixed fee; retainers by request only
Cadence
Weekly written status; mid-point and final readouts in person or video
Confidentiality
NDA before any data exchange; materials returned or destroyed on close
What we ask of clients

Three things make a mandate work.

REQ/01

A named sponsor

One executive with authority to decide — not a committee. We need someone who can say yes to the diagnosis and the fix.

Commitment: 1 hr/week
REQ/02

Access to reality

Operators, floor time and raw files — not curated summaries. The quality of the answer is set by the quality of the access.

Commitment: open doors
REQ/03

An owner for the handover

Someone internal who will run the system after we leave. If that person doesn't exist yet, finding them is part of the work.

Commitment: named by Phase 03
Frequent questions
Q/01

How fast can a mandate start?

Typically within two weeks of a signed scope. Urgent diagnostics — a stalled reorganization, a supply disruption — can often start faster.

Q/02

Do you work outside Utah?

Yes. Diagnostics benefit from being on-site, but analysis and design travel well. We price travel transparently in the scope.

Q/03

What size organization do you serve?

From start-ups writing their first operating plan to mid-size companies re-structuring for scale. The constraint matters more than the headcount.

Q/04

What if the diagnosis says the problem isn't fixable?

You get it in writing, with the reasoning. Sometimes the honest deliverable is a winding-down plan or a different question entirely.
